10 – Ellie & Brooke Kelaart

What’s hotter than a super sexy young thing that can spin the decks and bring the party? TWINS! Yes, from time immemorial, two have always been better than one, and when it comes to Australia’s hottest DJ divas, Ellie and Brooke Kelaart, that is definitely the case. After appearing on Beauty and the Geek in 2010, this terrific twosome have turned their hands to a mix of techno, house and electro tunes. Backing up the hype, the sisters signed to Ministry of Sound in 2012, and promptly got a bangin’ release on the market. Recently, they’ve dropped several new jams and have been spotted making the rounds in the hottest nightclubs in London.

9 – Chris Hemsworth

After his blow up role in the mythical blockbuster, Thor, Aussie beefcake, Chris Hemsworth has been a constant on hottie lists around the world; happily, we welcome him to another Sexy Australian of the Year list! Hemsworth had a huge year reprising his Thor role in the uber-smash The Avengers; in fact so popular has he been in the role we’ll be seeing him again soon in the franchise sequel, Thor: The Dark World. 2012 also saw him star in the horror flick The Cabin in the Woods and Snow White & the Huntsman, this time, wielding an axe instead of a hammer. Beefcake.

8 – Stephanie Bendixsen

The host of ABC’s Good Game is a nerd’s ultimate wet dream: sexy, young, an avid gamer herself and capable of steaming up coke bottle specs at twenty paces! Bendixsen has been hosting the popular ABC show since 2009, as well as co-hosting the show’s spin-off Good Game: Spawn Point which aired in 2012. She’s acted in an online mini-series called People You May Know and also writes a monthly gamer column for DOLLY magazine. This gorgeous geek takes a very respectable number 8 in the 2012/13 Sexy Australian of the Year.

7 – Liam Hemsworth

Until a few years ago, our number seven was known as Chris Hemsworth’s brother, Liam. Shortly after that he became known as Myley Cyrus’ boyfriend, Liam. But in 2012 Liam Hemsworth found his own voice with a small but well received role in The Hunger Games. With the sequels to this monster release on the horizon, the younger of the Hemsworth brothers looks set to follow in his big bros’ footsteps and put his stamp on Tinsel Town. Welcome to the big time Liam, and welcome to the 2012/13 Sexy Australian of the Year!

6 – Jesse Spencer

From his early days bedding Brooke Satchwell on Ramsay Street, to his international breakthrough role on House, it was only a matter of time before Jesse Spencer arrived on this, the sexiest of sexy lists. Trading the lab-coat for a fiery’s uniform in 2012, Spencer’s lead role in the new Dick Wolf series Chicago Fire, is the kinda break every young thespian dreams about. A tradie, a doctor, a fireman…all he needs is a role as a cop and he’s every woman’s fantasy rolled into one sexy blonde, blue-eyed package!

5 – 360

Matthew Colwell (better known by his rapper alias 360) has been a part of the Aussie hip hop scene for years, but 2012 was the year that he made it big – really big. The tattooed MC’s single Boys Like You hit number 3 on the ARIA charts and his personality proved to be every bit as bombastic as his prose. Colwell’s unabashed and foul-mouthed honesty has won both enemies and adoration within the music scene; and it’s a quality that bolsters other traits in the sexy Melbournian – his confidence, bravado and style. When you combine the bad boy persona, colourful ink and a sharp skater style, his debut on our annual list comes as little surprise. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you 360.

4 – Michelle Jenneke

If you haven’t heard of Australia’s latest YouTube sensation, Michelle Jenneke, you’ve been living in a cave, on an island, with a volleyball named Wilson. The Aussie hurdler went viral in 2012 after her sizzling pre-event warm-up dance was posted on YouTube. Although the heart-breaking hurdler went on to place 5th, the footage of her mesmerizing moves received over 19 million views in its first week and is now the leading cause of chronic drooling in adolescent males.

3 – Hugh Jackman

For the first time since 2009, the all-singing, all-dancing Hugh Jackman is back on our esteemed list, losing the Wolverine claws to play the valiant, under-garment buckling, Jean Valjean in the cinematic production of Les Miserables. Jackman won a Best Actor Golden Globe for his effort and is the only man likely to give Daniel Day Lewis’ Lincoln a push for the Oscar. Hunky nice guy, sexy superhuman or crooning crim – whatever role he’s playing, Hugh always brings the heat… the RedHot heat.

2 – Miranda Kerr

The first lady of Australian sex appeal has been a permanent fixture in our honour roles of late, and it’s a trend that looks set to continue! After giving birth to her first child in 2011, Kerr had her anatomically perfect curves back before the champagne corks hit the ceiling and was back on the catwalk within two months. In 2012, Kerr continued her global domination strutting down the runway for Victoria’s Secret, signing on as Qantas Airline’s ambassador, being crowned Esquire UK’s Sexiest Woman Alive and usurping Kate Moss as the face of the brand Mango. Phew! Perhaps 2013 will be the year Kerr stops to take a breath? If she does it in lingerie, that’s fine by us.

1 – Renae Ayres

West Australian hottie Renae Ayres takes the title – the 2012/13 Sexy Australian of the Year! This blonde bombshell destroyed the competition in the 2012 Miss Universe Australia final and went on to do us proud in Las Vegas, eventually being beaten out by Miss U.S.A (rigged much?). To place so highly in such an esteemed pageant, you need more than just good looks, and Renae has proven that she is much more than a really, really pretty face. We reckon that her performance both here in Oz and on the world stage displayed all the ingredients that we’re looking for… the essence of sexy. Renae has really impressed this year and the 22 year old is a thoroughly deserving winner of RedHotPie.com.au’s Sexy Australian of the Year award for 2013.
